Academy, a national HIPAA educator and certification specialist.
This certifications means that Medinotes E meets or
exceeds the HIPAA standards required for an electronic medical
record

Perspective Used
The E-Accelerator Methodology was used to review HIPAA
requirements from the perspective of a
Medinotes E client.
All HIPAA mandates apply to these clients. HIPAA Academy has
attempted to identify the maximum number of situations where a
service or feature in Medinotes E could provide relief.
Recommendations were grouped under the most appropriate date,
with highest impact recommendations listed first.
Evaluation Methodology
The evaluation method used is essential to indicate if an
individual MediNotes response is "acceptable" or "unacceptable".
In cases where recommendations were done faster than suggested
or in a manner that gives greater protection an "exceptional"
evaluation is given.
Conclusions Drawn
Overall the response of MediNotes Corporation has been
satisfactory or exceptional. Every area considered met the
condition of being either "acceptable" or "exceptional". Where
the product excels is in how Privacy is ensured by security
features.
The staff at
MediNotes has always considered confidentiality, integrity and
availability to be critical to their product. This shows in
their approach and in the product features. With all
recommendations the staff has looked beyond the specific request
to find broader applications. Logging every change a user makes
evidences this. It is also shown in the encryption of all
scripts sent to the user. MediNotes has also shown that they are
not concerned with the methods they've used in the past. If a
process needs to be replaced and redesigned to do it "right",
they do so.
